IMPACT TRAP
HB-2107-FG
IMPACT TRAP reagent is used to detect platelet dysfunction or normal platelet activity in human whole blood. It is sensitive to all GPIIbIIIa antagonists (e.g., tirofiban or eptifibatide) or GPIIbIIIa receptor defects.
TRAP-6 (thrombin receptor-activating peptide) can be used as an alternative to thrombin to activate platelets via the PAR-1 receptor. Of the PAR peptides, PAR-1 is of greatest importance for generating procoagulant activity in humans, as its specific activation by thrombin receptor-activating peptide (TRAP) enhances blood coagulation, which was not further enhanced by PAR-4 activation. PAR-1 corresponds to amino acids 42 to 47 of the thrombin receptor and mimics the action of thrombin.
TRAP-6 is a synthetic hexapeptide that activates the thrombin receptor independently of receptor cleavage without triggering fibrin formation.
